Cadillac recently launched a special edition of the CTS-V Coupe that features a Silver Frost matte finish. There will only be 100 units of this limited edition Cadillac and the brand is already tagging them as collector editions.
Just like how BMW’s Frozen matte paintwork, the Silver Frost of Cadillac should only be hand washed and also requires conditioning instead of regular waxing. Although it sounds taxing to take care of, the car manufacturer assures its customers that the matte finish is as durable as the usual glossy body paint.
The carmaker made use of a 30-gloss instead of an 80-gloss kind of clear coat applied on a car’s standard finish. The overall look and feel is a dull finish just like what you will expect for anything matte but there is still a bit of sparkle given the right lighting condition.
The CTS-V limited edition will have a 6.2L supercharged V-8 powerplant that cranks out 556 horsepower and a torque of 551 lb-ft. Buyers can opt for yellow brake calipers by Brembo and stain or polished graphite rims.
In case you are not a fan of the dull body finish, Cadillac has some good news for you. Starting March, the brand will introduce a glossy, blue-gray finish called Stealth Blue for the CTS range.
The Stealth Blue paintwork will be available for all sedan and coupe models of the CTS and the Cadillac CTS-V. This will not be available for the sport wagon editions. Aside from the blue exterior option, Cadillac will also offer a Twilight Blue leather package for the interior.

Cadillac has started testing the race car CTS-V Coupe on the track fresh from the spotlights of the North American International Auto Show. The CTS-V Coupe zoomed around the Sebring International Raceway in the state of Florida.
